Director of Sales

a2z, Inc. offers you the chance to work in a fun and flexible work environment as part of a relatively small staff. We are looking for high-energy, tech savvy individual to join us in the role of Director of Sales. The Director of Sales will sell a2z’s cloud-based software platform to non-profit (i.e. associations) and independent (for-profit) exposition and event organizers. Responsibilities include direct sales to new clients and expanding product portfolio to existing clients. The successful candidate will possess a true sales “hunter” mentality. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves position with lots of income potential in a growing and dynamic environment.

Experience Required/Preferred

  • Degree in business, marketing, sales or communications preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in direct sales, and demonstrated ability to increase sales results and meet defined goals.
  • Knowledge of and contacts within the exposition, convention and meetings space.
  • Excellent computer skills/aptitude and working knowledge with business technologies including Microsoft Office, the Internet, databases, AMS systems and CRM programs (SalesForce.com experience a plus.)
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both with clients, partners and with a2z team members.

General Responsibilities

  • Direct sales to a2z’s target market prospects, including prospect research, qualification, outreach, meetings, demonstrations and proposal generation.
  • Present live and online demos of a2z’s programs to clients. (Will have product engineering support for complex products and sales.)
  • Prepare and present formal proposals to clients and in response to RFP’s.
  • Develop a formal sales plan and work the plan.
  • Work closely with Vice President of Sales and other team members on collaborative projects.
  • Attend and participate in industry conferences and trade shows (typically as a2z exhibit staff).
  • Keep all records required to execute these sales responsibilities, including extensive use of SalesForce.com CRM application.
  • Some travel required for client presentations, industry expositions and conferences.

Location: Columbia, Maryland Office (some telecommuting possible)

Product Support Specialist - Full Time, 2 Positions

a2z, Inc. offers you the chance to work in a fun and flexible work environment as part of a relatively small staff. We are looking for high-energy, tech savvy individuals to join us in the role of Product Support Specialist, working as an important part of our Professional Services Department. The position involves hands-on execution and managing the technical aspects of our product deployments. Expect to travel, both domestically and internationally 25 to 50% of the time, assisting clients at major trade shows. This is definitely a roll-up-your-sleeves-and-work position. We think you’ll find the work at a2z to be both challenging and exciting.

General Qualifications You Should Possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related major
  • Good writing skills - technical & business subjects
  • Ability to multi-task successfully
  • Excellent attention to detail; strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills
  • Live within a comfortable commuting distance from our Columbia, Maryland office
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally 25 to 50% of your time

Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers onsite with their use of the a2z product suite
  • Assist Project Teams with project deployments and maintenance
  • Set up and configure all aspects of complete systems with guidance from the Project Manager and Senior Product Support Specialist
  • Test systems prior to delivery
  • Troubleshoot and investigate technical issues
  • Test new product releases
  • Maintain a high level of up-to-date product knowledge

Product Support Specialist Intern (Paid)

This position involves hands-on execution and managing the technical aspects of our product deployments. This is definitely a roll-up-your-sleeves-and-work internship, so you won’t just be the office “go-fer”. Our past interns say “you’ll have fun here,” and we think you’ll find the work at a2z to be both challenging and exciting. Best of all, a successful internship could possibly lead to a permanent position – a number of our interns have chosen to join us full-time.

General Qualifications You Should Possess:

  • Information Systems, Computer Science, or related major
  • Good writing skills - technical & business subjects
  • Ability to multi-task successfully
  • Excellent attention to detail; strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills

Technical Skills You’ll Need:

This is an exciting long-term, part-time (10-20 hours a week) position with a broad range of responsibilities and learning experiences in market research for a new product.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with market research for a new product launch in the various industries:
    • Restaurant
    • Retail
    • Amusement
    • Attractions
  • Assist with market research to determine the 4 P’s (product, pricing, placement and promotion)

Experience Required

  • Primarily working toward a degree in business marketing or communication
    • This is a long-term internship – preferable not less than one calendar year
  • Must have a thorough understanding of market research principles and execution.

Mid Level.NET Web Application Developer

Essential Duties/Requirements for this job:

  • Strong background developing Web based application leveraging the .NET Framework
  • Contribute to the architecture and design of Web based applications and systems and also develop the same
  • Maintenance of our .NET product on a daily basis
  • Keep up to date with the latest technology and also help find the right solution for any given requirement

Specific Technical skills needed

  • Strong background in Object Oriented development methodologies
  • Experience with web development and database programming using ASP.NET and MS SQL Server 2005
  • 2+ years experience designing and developing enterprise level Web applications using HTML, DHTML, ASP.NET, VB.NET, AJAX 1.0, Visual Studio and SQL Server 2005
