I am really excited to share the news that a2z was named to the 2011 Inc. 500|5000 List. Being recognized as one the fastest growing privately held companies in U.S. for the sixth year in a row is deeply humbling. I would like to thank our clients, partners, and the rest of the industry for supporting a2z. Most of all, I would like to thank the entire a2z team. Their efforts, dedication, and belief in our business objectives have played a key role in the company’s continued growth.

Quarterly Exposition Industry Analysis

a2z's Quarterly Exposition Industry Analysis is hot off the presses. This report considers data through Q2 of the calendar year 2012. The analysis reflects overall industry performance, a breakdown of vertical market performance and sales pacing of the last six months, and forecast for the next six. The analysis is based on aggregate event data from the hundreds of shows managed on a2z's platform, paired in cooperation with Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) vertical classifications.

  • Q2 levels ahead of both 2009 (base comparison year) and 2011 levels.

  • Industry Sectors are all close to, or slightly ahead of both Q2 2009 levels as well as last year. Heavy machinery is an exception at 143% of 2009 levels and 16% ahead of last year. Transportation is 127% of 2009 levels, and 26% ahead of last year.

  • Industry Pacing trends show the past six months NSF sold trended ahead over last year by 4%.

You might not be aware of this, but a2z takes marketing YOUR online tools very seriously. In fact, for many of our products, we actually offer marketing campaigns and support as part of the package. We’ve lived and learned from the “if you build it, they will come” mentality. You have to make exhibitors aware of the amazing opportunities they have to showcase their presence at your show before the actual event. Marketing does work.

a2z and The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) tried this mantra recently with great success. IFT launched the ChirpE attendee acquisition widget for the 2012 IFT Annual Meeting + Food Expo in early March, about four months before the event.

A targeted email marketing campaign resulted in more than a 100 exhibitors using the plug-and-play widget actively to promote their participation at the event, thus boosting the event's overall online visibility and reach.

In addition to what a2z provides, we often see our clients do some really great marketing campaigns as well. For example, PSMJ is marketing the attendee acquisition widget with a “signed” email to their exhibitors.

National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) authored blog posts to help their attendees get the most from their event management tools. See how they promoted the advantages of creating an Expo Plan.

Cosmoprof North America is offering attendees a chance to win an iPad when they log in and schedule meetings with exhibitors.
